LISA
LABORATORY FOR INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS AND APPLICATIONS
since 2009
LISA is the lab of the Data Science group at the Informatics and Statistical Department (INE/UFSC). Since 2009, it has hosted graduate and undergraduate students who work on Data Science and Data Engineering problems. Thanks to institutional support and previous projects, LISA is now housed in a space with more than 100m2 and smaller rooms hosting professors. All these spaces have proper architectural conditions and computational equipment for developing solutions and running experiments. The research developed at LISA handles considerable amounts of diverse complex data, including documents, semi-structured data, social media data, trajectories, linked data, image descriptors, and associated metadata.
